This dam was built in 1288 for the establishment of a landgrave’s fish pond. As the demand for fish declined, the water was drained in 1786/87. On the site of the former pond is the Philipp Soldan Forum, a mini golf course, an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, drinking water fountains, the mineral water source and a public park.
