Here stood the Neustädter Gate, also called the Monastery Gate, which was part of the fortification of the Neustadt founded in 1335. It was inhabited in the upper building and was demolished after 1763. It included the Pforthaus, which later served as a guardhouse and was occupied by the citizen’s guard after 1821.
