NiederMühle

Inscription

The Niedermühle was first mentioned in 1268 as “Hellemühle”. It was used for grinding and milling grain, cutting wood, as an oil mill, and from 1502 to 1899 also as “water art” for raising groundwater into the old town. Since 1903, electricity has been generated here. The old mill was demolished in 1970 to build the Riverside Road.
