Pond Gate

In extension of this city wall stood the two-part community gate, which was called Pond Gate after the pond was laid out (1288). The outer gate was demolished in 1630. It was followed in 1824 by the gatehouse, in which the pond guard and lastly the swineherd lived. From the fish pond, which was dried up in 1786, the name “Pond” remained.
