Röddenau Gate

Inscription

Here at the border between the old town built around 1233 and the new town founded in 1335 stood the Hainpforte, later called Röddenauer Tor and after 1626 Severinspforte. After the union of both towns in 1556, the gate with the gatehouse became insignificant and was later demolished. This was also the location of the middlemost brewery of the town.
